Elia Badal, 84, beloved husband of Gaetana 'Gay' (Bramante) Badal, of New Britain, passed on to the Lord, peacefully on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at the Andrew House Healthcare Center after a long illness with his family by his side. Elia was born on April 29, 1929 in Berlin, CT and was son to the late Joseph and Apres (Hormis) Badal. A hard working person, he had been employed by Landers, Frary and Clark and later the New Britain School System for many years, sadly retiring in 1988 due to complications with his Parkinson's Disease....

Elia Badal, 84, beloved husband of Gaetana 'Gay' (Bramante) Badal, of New Britain, passed on to the Lord, peacefully on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at the Andrew House Healthcare Center after a long illness with his family by his side. Elia was born on April 29, 1929 in Berlin, CT and was son to the late Joseph and Apres (Hormis) Badal. A hard working person, he had been employed by Landers, Frary and Clark and later the New Britain School System for many years, sadly retiring in 1988 due to complications with his Parkinson's Disease. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Church where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a very loving man, who had a strong faith and kind heart. He visited many of the sick at the Hospital of Special Care and New Britain General Hospital. In his healthier days, he was also active with the New Britain Senior Center, AARP of New Britain and St. Ann Senior Center.

In addition to his beloved wife Gaetana "Gay" of 59 years, he also leaves to mourn him, his beautiful and devoted children; his two daughters: Apres McLaughlin and husband Jay of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Gay-Marie Kusznir and husband Frank of New Britain and son Joseph Badal of New Britain, his sister Hanna Michalski of Berlin, his precious grandchildren, the pride and joy of his life, Sean McLaughlin of Venice, Fl, Kelly McLaughlin Doheny and husband Kevin of Lynn Haven, Fl and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers; George and John Badal. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The Badal family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Andrew House Healthcare for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will begin Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at 10:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., followed by the funeral liturgy at 11:00am in St. Ann Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
